With the World Whiskies Awards 2025 now open for entries, we asked previous winners about their thoughts on how winning an award could improve your brand image.
This month, the World Whiskies Awards 2025 officially opened for entries. Last year’s awards proved to be another exciting and competitive time for dozens of incredible whisky brands around the world and it looks like this year will continue that tradition. We recently spoke to previous winners at the World Whiskies Awards 2024 and asked them about their experiences, how their win helped push product sales and why other brands should enter the awards.
Jessi Unruh, director of marketing at Breckenridge Distillery, commented on how winning the World's Best Finished Bourbon title has been integral to improving the marketing of the brand:
“As one of the most rapidly expanding and highly decorated craft distilleries, winning World’s Best Blended or Finish Bourbon speaks volumes to the connoisseur holding a bottle in their hands. We strategically leverage these accolades in all our marketing, press endeavours, and sales collateral, seizing every opportunity to talk about the compelling narratives, superior products, and authentic character of our brand."
Sonali Wyawhare, marketing manager for Hellyers Road Distillery, discussed the company’s Best Australian Single Malt 2024 win and offered her thoughts on why brands should enter the World Whiskies Awards:
"We always believed we crafted world-class whisky, but winning awards have put a spotlight on it. It has been instrumental in solidifying our brand's global reputation. Moreover, it inspires our customers, shareholders, and whisky drinkers alike to be passionate brand advocates. We wholeheartedly recommend the World Whiskies Awards to other whisky producers. The platform provides an exceptional opportunity to showcase whiskies to a global audience of industry experts and enthusiasts. The recognition truly can be a game-changer for any brand."
