Awards winners: where are they now?—World Drinks Awards 2025

07.10.24
We spoke to previous winners of the World Drinks Awards to find out how winning an award has influenced their brand and their words to those unsure about entering.
The World Drinks Awards is currently underway, with winners submitting their products from all over the world and from all corners of the drinks market. We asked previous winners of the World Drinks Awards to tell us how winning an award has greatly helped their brand stand out in the ever-growing global industry.

We talked to Andreas Werner, co-founder of Spitzmund and Camilo Roman, master distiller for Residentas Rum, to discuss the current state of their business, how their business has changed over the past year and why they think it would benefit other alcoholic drinks producers to enter the World Drinks Awards.

Camilo Roman discussed how winning an award at the World Drinks Awards, subsequently helped the brand.

“Winning this award has helped us showcase our product to potential buyers worldwide. In early-stage companies like ours, recognition plays an important role in getting your brand out there and I believe we are really close to get some deals with the European and Asian markets.” Roman continued and expressed their appreciation for the support they received from the awards.

“We’ve had a lot of support from the World Drinks Awards team during the shipping process. We´re a small distilling company from Paraguay, and face difficulties in order to send alcohol-based bottles to other countries. Thanks to the great team at World Drinks Awards, we were able to be on time for the competition and the results have made us really happy.”

Andreas Werner discussed how, since winning an award, Spitzmund’s brand awareness and sales have seen a clear impact.

“Winning the Germany's Best Egg Liqueur award for three consecutive years has been a tremendous achievement for Spitzmund Klötenköm Egg Liqueur. This recognition has significantly boosted our brand awareness, solidifying our position as a premium product in the national market. In terms of sales, the award had a notable impact. Following the announcement, we saw a 15% increase in sales, and we expanded our distribution to several new regions within Germany.” Werner then went on to say why he feels smaller brands should consider entering the World Drinks Awards.

“I highly recommend participating in the World Drinks Awards to other brands. Not only does it provide recognition from respected industry experts, but it also helps brands stand out in a competitive market. For us, it validated years of craftsmanship and hard work, and the award has now become a trusted mark of quality for consumers.”
